Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, where casino betting is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is true of many border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational vacation and hotel compound that contains a number of comforts aside from the casino, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 tables.
