Zimbabwe Casinos

The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the current time, so you could imagine that there might be little desire for patronizing Zimbabwe’s casinos. In reality, it appears to be operating the opposite way, with the desperate economic circumstances leading to a larger eagerness to bet, to attempt to find a quick win, a way out of the situation.

For nearly all of the locals living on the meager local earnings, there are 2 common types of gambling, the state lottery and Zimbet. As with practically everywhere else on the planet, there is a national lottery where the chances of profiting are remarkably low, but then the prizes are also remarkably high. It’s been said by market analysts who study the situation that many don’t buy a ticket with the rational belief of profiting. Zimbet is based on either the local or the English soccer leagues and involves determining the outcomes of future games.

Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, on the other shoe, pander to the incredibly rich of the country and vacationers. Until recently, there was a considerably big vacationing industry, founded on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The market anxiety and associated crime have cut into this trade.

Amongst Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and one armed bandits, and the Plumtree gambling hall, which has only slots. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just one armed bandits. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the two of which have gaming tables, slots and video machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer video poker machines and table games.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls and the previously alluded to lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a pools system), there are a total of 2 horse racing tracks in the state: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Given that the economy has contracted by beyond forty percent in recent years and with the connected deprivation and bloodshed that has cropped up, it is not known how healthy the vacationing industry which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the next few years. How many of them will be alive till conditions get better is basically not known.
